The Village School

A strip of wood shared by many as a desk, pounding rain on a corrugated tin roof , can't hear the teacher. No books, no paper, no pencils, makes learning hard. We are sponges.

Our school isn't finished yet. Thick branches make a frame packed with clay , now we have a wall and here is a space for a window. We have a roof  over our heads.

Our school bell, the tire rim, we are resourceful and rich in spirit.

C.E.S. means Collége d'Enseignement Secondaire
in other words, high school in French.
Angone was just a click (kilometer) north of Oyem and
was a Catholic mission school.
No bus to take the students to school. They
walked a long dusty road.
